Radio Question

Hi, All
I recently bought a 96 Cavalier in which the previous owner installed a Kenwood CD player. Unfortunately, for me, they neglected to install rear speakers. My question is, can I install the wires to the rear speakers without tearing out the dash to reach the back of the radio.
Thanks Joe

you can run them thru the console and up to the radio

no back speakers? weird! you can go to any radio shop and they will be able to pull out your radio to look at the wiring. two key lookin things that will unlock the harness that holds the cd player in your dash

The car should have had rear speakers from the factory. Even if the speakers are gone, the wiring should still be there from the dash to the back of the car. Of course, you have to figure out where they are.

see, i was going to say that, but i wasnt sure, if i were you, id check up under the back lid to see if the speakers are in there, and if they are, and they are connected, then you need to pull out your radio.. which (again) can be done at a stereo shop

Thanks, guys. This was a pretty cheap car when it came new; I don't think it had rear speakers. I saw where the holes are for speakers and it doesn't look like there were ever speakers there. I'm going to a car stereo place tomorrow(it they're open) and see if I can get them to pull the stereo out and take a look.

They'll probably want to charge you. :p

Sorry, Guys, my mistake; there were wires already in the car. I just didn't see them. I guess they were installed from factory. I hooked up an old speaker to them and it actually worked! So I guess the only thing I need to do now is go downtown and pick up a pair of good speakers. Thanks for your input,
Joe
