Weird S2000 question

To anyone who has built the Tamiya S2000:

Did you glued the mirrors and the hard-top onto the body before spray painting it?

I'm keeping the mirrors separate until after the body is polished. It's too hard to polish around them without knocking them off. I think the same may be true for your hard-top roof.

No, the roof and mirrors want to go on afterwards.
They are flimsy, so be careful. If you don't glue the roof on you can take it on and off to look at the interior!

Isn't the S2000 hardtop removable on the real car anyway? I don't know why you'd glue it on. I usually paint mirrors, spoilers, etc seperatly.

The hard and soft top are molded in white for the VGS version. I'm asking about this because I see there's a little guide line on the body of the car. I'm afraid the guide line won't be visible after primer and paint.

And yes, the top is removeable on the real car.
