I replaced my power steering fluid last night.
I bought the normal clear powersteering fluid.
I noticed the fluid coming out of the powersteering housing was red.
Why was it red?
Did they use Dextron-III instead?
Would it be better to stick with Dextron-III in the powersteering housing?
I know in fords its better to use tranmission fluid in the pump if it making noise but what about chevys????
Thanks for any insight.
I drove my old ford last night and tell y'all I do not miss it one bit.

GM used to use Dexron fluid in both the transmission and power steering. The red fluid you are seeing is normal, some power steering fluid is red and some is clear.
