Ok first let me say, that YES I know its probly REALLY hard or REALLY expensive.and all the other normal yeah you can do anything u want for the $$. but i just figure i wanna ask other ppl what theyre ideas might be for simple/good ways to make it possible or how to go about the idea of the project. YES its alot of work and money. but hey who said innovation was easy.
i have a stupid RS that breaks all the time anyways.so. i want Rear wheel drive. aside from buying a nother car, anyone got any ideas how to make this happen?

funny how u buy an RS even tho LS integra (honda) smokes the shit out of an RS. If you want rear wheel drive your best bet is to drive your car backwards, because eitherway your going to be slow and converting it will cost tons of money

this is a weird prognosis, but however, it is very true. driving backwards will be the only chance that you have

change your RWD final drive ratio to like 6.0. then ur top speed will be well over 90. can u even attain this type of speed with your current set up?

it might just be that your internal gap string has loosened and you wont be able to reach speeds over 80 mph. A possible solution to this would be to clean your axels with goats milk, which removes fungus and moss commonly associated with eclipses.

If you really want to do some thing cool and if your good at welding/metal working. Take out your engine and put in behind the front seats. That way you can take your front supension and put it in the rear and boom mid engine rear wheel drive. Totaly bad azz, Thats what i wish i had the money and skill to do.
Note: before people start talking crap about how much more to it there is, I know. You would have to put in a fire wall behind the seats, You would have to move the gas take some where, Cut out the floor board under the back seat so the engine can stick thru, etc... etc... But it would be orgional and great!

Well I admit that I'm new.. but if i remember correctly the Rs is from the 1g body style... If this is the case I have heard of this being done on the 1g's atleast...
It involves rotating the engine 90 degrees to the right and hooking up a different transmission and drivetrain. Now I have heard that to do the the best trans. to use is the Toyota Supra MkIII 5sp manual. Othen then that the information gets fuzzy.
Again if the Rs is not in the 1g style then sorry... but it has been done.

aside from the useless answers, time and money can acomplish anything, try searching for engine swaps, see if anyone has done it yet, other than that try some drag race links for possible info

WIth 1gs everyone is using a powerglide 2 spd auto. Bushcur sells the bellhousing adapaters, and motor mount plates. Typically used is ford rearend with strange axles/brakes/suspension. The car has to be backhalved. The AWD drivetrain wasnt meant to be used as RWD, but with low power you could get away with it if you were really bored. Just need a spool/welded diff/welded VC and use parts of the front axles to plug the holes.
I cant figure out what this has to do with an RS that breaks all the time though. It will cost you more money to do a RWD conversion that it would take to keep that POS running for years to come ;)

sell your car, get a 240sx.
The last thing we need is a RWD eclipse, there would be nothing to hold the rear wheels planted on the road.
:-D

yeah i want a 240 but i cant get enough $$ for my eclipse to afford a running manual 240(theyre more exp than the autos...go figure)and as for why i like the idea of RWD is man the ebrake slides are fun as crap and the car handles damn well for a stock car. and where have u seen a eclipse drifting? i dunno as for keeping it running i know...2 more problems just started up...
