integra vs GSX

hey guys what do i need to do to do to my car to make it faster than a a GSX? i want to make GSX owners cry and poop their pants when i smoke them badly on the streets. thanks guys

Put a turbo kit on your teg and if it is tuned right it will put up a serious fight with even modded GSTs. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear as if your teg is a GS-R :(, so you may just want to save up for a car with more potential.

im not a honda guru.. neither are half the peeps up in here... your best bet is at the honda forums... if your wanting to know what time you need to beat a gsx your lookin at needing a 14.5 to be ahead of a stock one... really a 14 flat cuz anybody with a dsm can hit lower in 10 seconds of putting a bc on... your prolly gonna want a turbo on a teg.. if it was a hatch id say you could do it all motor just cuz iv seen rush's hatch run a 14.4 or something on a stock b18a swap... now a teg with b18a boosted would keep its own with a nicly moddified gsx i bet

Bottom line: there are a few cars that can compete with turbo DSMs mod for mod, dollar for dollar. Among them? Z28s and Mustang 5.0s. Hondas are just not among them. I think Hondas have some excellent design features and terrific engines, but the amount of engine work required to enable a Honda engine to handle the same amount of hp as a stock 4g63 can tolerate is unreal.

dude i really wouldnt be dissing that hatch.. it has b18a that got it into the low 14's stock.. 140 hp.. same as a gs eclipse.. and that car is in the shop right now getting a boosted. its getting a ihi setup from a integra that pushed 20 psi. it might not be the best lookin car but its gonna fly...

You know we never started shit...this guy came into OUR forum and fucked with OUR people and OUR car....oh and yea talon69 ran a 13.8 with very few mods...dont know how much he spent, but it wasnt 2,000 and his car is way better looking than that shit box....

Let me start off with this... I own a dsm and ya know what I would trade it in a heart beat for a jdm. Infact I would only own two cars if I had it my way... 99 Nissan Skyline GTR and a 92 Toyota Supra MKIII TT. Neither of which would need to be moded in my opinion... well except for the Skyline cus the Do-Luck body kits for it are to die for.... Any way back to the subject at hand....


Lets start off by being fair...

95 Gsx at kbb value baseline is looking at $7k
95 honda hatch on any model is from $6 to 4.5k... now lets keep in mind two things... 1. Those are with base features and miles (86k) and 2. good luck finding hondas with less then 100k plus on the motor. Hell when I look local I can find the things for 400 with 200k on the motor.

Now im not a fan of Hondas out side of the new Accord V6's or a good old NSX... but if you looking for starting cheep then Hondas are a good choice to start out with.

Lets also not for get, this whole modding of cars came from us here in the states, but those who perfected it where not in this country. It was there Japanese who brought us the TT's and Audi who brought *for those who know* the killer duel set up of Super and Tubo charged at the same time.

If you want to be dicks about whos car is fast and what car is better try to keep this in mind... If you drive an american made car then by all rights don't you dare put a mod on your car... that trend is forgien. Domestic american power comes from displacement and engine tuning... not turbos and boost controlers... infact I am trying to think of American cars that came with turbos... I am pretty sure we were all Supers.

Either way the point comes down to this... Drag racing is an american thing... heavy mods and showing off how you have wasted your money... thats a dumb things... pooring money in to a car and kicking some guys ass on a Real track... now thats the spirit. If you want to brang about your times on a quarter... don't I know the motorcycles that would kill you... If you want to brag about your Drift times and Scores then by all means show us your skill... And if anything else brag about your taste in fashion on your car and post some pics.

But stop harking on other peoples cars when you personally don't approve. Over all In my opinion the hondas will kick dsm ass when it comes to the over all costs and initial purchase.

Before, I had nothing against Hondas. Then one of my boys beat a civic with a jeep wrangler. That takes care of honda's.
As for integras, I was racing one for fun once and i beat him three times(in the same race). I past him, slowed down, past him again. slowed down again, and then past him a third time. And that particular teg owner couldn't even look at me after that. GIVE RESPECT WHEN YOU ARE BEAT.
Now for the skyline fan, my brother has a 350z and I do like nissans, not as much as dsms but i do like them. Now why in your right mind would you compare a $90,000 car to a dsm. It's like comparing a ferrarri enzo to a geo metro. When there is a $90,000 eclipse then make as many comparisons as you want.

I didn't intend to compare the two in anyway shape or form. Sorry if I gave that impression. I was just trying to show that while I do own my 90 Eclipse... and do enjoy it aside all of its problems... I would rather have either of those two cars instead. Sure any one could probable pick a car they would want more then the one they have... its just that I am not a dick when it comes to saying "Honda can suck it compared to a DSM" or "Mustangs fuxxors the Camaros".

I don't dislike Hondas... I dislike Honda drivers... Just like Mustang drivers. The only Honda drivers I support are the ones who do it for the right reasons. Unlike our 1g non turbo... it is easy for them to throw on a turbo of their choice. I give the Hondas credit on the weight and flexabitly and overall low starting cost.
