96 SSE 3.8 hard restart when hot

I have a 96 SSE 3.8. Runs great all the time ( so far anyway ), but occasionally doesn't want to stay running after getting it hot- shutting it down- and restarting it. It cranks fine, almost starts, but won't keep running. Once it cools down it starts fine. This is an intermittent problem. I've replaced thermostat, coilpacks and tps. Thoughts anyone?

I would check the ignition module and crank sensor. Both can fail when hot but work fine when cold.

Thanks. I already replaced the module, but the crank sensor sounds like my next shot. One other post that I read had a 95 SSE with a similar problem as mine was also cured by a new crank sensor. Is it difficult to replace?

the hardest part is getting the harmonic balancer off. Once that's accomplished, its a harness and two bolts. You have to remove the center bolt from the crank, which is on there tight (300+ ft/lbs of torque). you may need an assistant to hold the flywheel to keep the motor from turning while you remove the center bolt.
