Break(!) light on

my break light is always on. i know that they e brake is not on but why is the light on? can i fix the problem?

the red light is for e-brake and low fluid level - if the fluid is full try to unplug the level sensor on the master cyl. resivoir and see if the light goes out

and make sure that you dont need to change the breaks.
the only other thing that i know of is when i blew the electrical system in the back of my truck and i set the emergency break and then release it my break and abs light stay on

My break light was on (94 Ranger) for almost three years.
I've heard this is a common problem with Rangers.
Eventually I gravity bled the whole brake system to get every last tiny bit of air out... only then did it finally go out.
Also if your brakes need to be changed the light will stay on. Good luck
