i was thinking of gettin a kicker 850 wat 2 chanel amp and get 2 12 inch l5s but i dont kno if it would be enough power and would have to bump up to a 1200 watt one. i was also thinking of gettin a the 850 kicker amp and gettin 2 10 in l5 but dont kno if it will be loud. its rated at 425 watts a piece rms and the subs are 450 watts rms so i think it woudl power the 10s but i dont kno if i could get away with 12s/ but if i could get the 12s it would be better . help

also if the amp is rated at 425 x 2 at 4 ohms would i get the 4 ohm subs to put out this much power i get confused with the 2 ohms and the 4 ohms difference wen picking out the subs

hey.. first of all.. if you got the 850 amp, i think you would be fine with two 12s. you would get probably 450-475 watts to each sub because the kicker is a good amp and kicker usually underrates their amps, so you might even get more power than the 450rms that it says it will deliver. Anyways, i have two 12 inch L5s and i plan on powering them with 900 to 950 watts rms, and they will give me good results. I was told that the difference in sound from 900 - 1200 watts is only around 2db, and this is almost not enough difference for you to hear. It is up to you though because youwill get cleaner sound from the 10s, but the 12s will probably be louder. About the resistance, if you want the amp to see two seperate subs at four ohms a piece, get the dual 2 ohm subs and wire the voice coils for each sub in a series. if you plan on bridging the amp, get two dual 4 ohm subs and wire the subs together in parallel. i tried to help you out a little but im kinda new to audio stuff as well so if i mixed something up forgive me but im pretty sure everything i said is correct

i meant that the amp would probably give you 425-450 rms per sub, even though its rated at 425. i accidently said you might get 475 cause its rated at 450. my bad
