I brought my car back to where I bought it since the steering wheel is hard to turn especially at 60m/hr around curves. It is difficult to do so with one hand witht the risk of causing a choppy turn. they tell me there is nothing wrong. I will have to bring it to the dealership and ask them there opinion. Any suggestions here. Is the steering hard normally??
Thanks.
Thanks.

"magnasteer" issue or a bad rack

This could be a safety issue - I'd get to a dealer and have them check it out. It could just be that it's just harder to turn than other cars you've driven, but it would be nice to know that for sure - a dealer will tell you if there's anything wrong with it.

Went to the dealer today. They tell me it is ok. They say it is normal for it to be harder than the car I'm use to driving. Well I guess I will have to get use to it.
When the dealer tried to start my car it took some time for the engine to turn. When I was leaving the car stalled and the engine light came on. I showed it to the dealer he said I would have to leave it there to verify. After when I tried starting it the engine turned ok and the engine light disappeared. What gives???

"Verify" means reading the codes and charging you about $80 for it.

:disappoin 2 weeks ago for the 1st time, I was pulling outta my parking space and felt the hard turning right problem. When I made it out the steering was fine then turned right at the corner and it happend again. It has not happend yet again. That day the weather looked like the movie "The Day After Tommorow" in NY and it think it had to do with this weather. Might have it looked at before it happens again. Any other ideas? :screwy:
Thanks.

I'm puzzled as well. I have normal steering while driving slow and fast, BUT at idle, left is fine while to the right is not. Idle up and sometimes it helps and sometimes not. When in gear, it's like you have to accelerate and then it works. Yesterday I topped up the steering reservoir (1/2 inch) with Lucas Steering Stabilizer, and for an hour I thought I had the problem solved. Gave the car back to my wife and said it was all good....until she called and said not so. I checked with the Dealer and they said that warehouse has sold about 100 Magnasteer Idle speed sensor swithches (Olds,Cadillacs and all) It uses 1 sensor and because left is ok then that sensor must be OK. The question of the day is " Why sometimes and why to the right only? Maybee the rack...? Anyone ever have this problem?
