I currently have a '90 Z32TT and since winter is approaching, I will need a beater/winter car soon. I don't need anything expesive or the best. I need a FWD car that is reliable and good on gas as well. The EG6 sounds great too me and I am looking at them the most.

I found that and it's in my price range. I'm not going to mod this so I don't car if it's a good mod car lol. What should I be asking to owner? Such as original owner, records, reason for selling, and yea... What is the major maint. time to do? Such as we do a major maint. check every 60K miles on the Z32. I appreciate your work and time. Who else would I ask other then the Honda experties?

Find out how many miles are on that bad boy? Is it automatic or manual ? If so when was the clutch replaced? Alternator? Check the CV boots for any leaking. How many owners have had it? Timing belt, water pump. Was it highway miles or street? Just some things to ask..

how often was the oil changed, when was the t-belt changed, is it burning oil or coolant, any audible problems coming from the motor or tranny, any accidents, heater and A/C work? Check for rust at the rear wheelwells. 60K miles is about right for maintenance. Civics are very reliable cars, their motors can last up to 400K miles if well maintaned (that's pretty high but it's been known to happen). Other than that they said they did a full tune up and alignment so it sounds like everything is pretty much taken care of for any time soon. But jsut make sure to ask those other questions, listen to the motor and tranny and check the timing belt for wear and you should be all set.

All things considered, I think you are getting a good deal. I know people who buy 92 hatch backs with no motor for almost a grand. You can always sell it at the end of the winter and possibly get all your money back. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll just ask the same question when I bought my Z32, I just thought there were some special things to look out on the EG6 cars. I'll let you know the info tomorrow when I call the person up, thanks for your help and not flamming me for being a newcomer on the Honda Section :P
EDIT: I noticed you didn't have a FAQ page for EG6, I could only find some for Del Sol. Could anyone direct me to a FAQ page for this car? Sorry if I over looked it but I searched for a little and had no success.
