Rear disc brakes for my metro.

Hello back everybody. Had too much work last days so I did not come to check the forum a couple weeks ago.

Amnn... for some reason I woke up this morning and now I want my geo with four wheel brake discs. Ah?! I can't explain exactly why. I believe it is to give my sweetie more braking power. Does anyone know about a guide to make this transformation? Maybe just pull them out from other car and replace them on my hottie gem?

Any comment would be truely appreciated.

If you can find a scrapped Swift GTi in a scrapyard, you can just pull the rear discs, calipers and hubs off and put them on your Metro. I haven't done this to my 98 yet, but I'm planning on it some day, if i keep her. Remember to bleed the brake lines well after you do this. Don't want air in the lines.

Where I live is quite difficult to find metros. Do you think I could somehow use another's metro front discs to put then in her rear?

I don't know. I'd wager that the front hubs are different, since they're the drive wheels, but I've never really looked that closely. As I said, the easiest is the Swift GTi setup, but you could probably get a set up off another car with rear disc as long as you kept in mind the bolt pattern and such. Metros and Swifts have 4x113 (4x4.5") bolt patterns, which is generally an american bolt pattern, even though it's a Suzuki.

Grab the whole rear assembly off a swift GT. You'll also need the proportioning valve, and rubber brake lines. You'll need everything on the rear except the control arm and strut. I've got 2 sets here i'm using got my rear disc setup. when i'm done, i'll be selling one :) If you wanna wait, it'll be a couple months till I have everything ready.

Woah boys! No fighting over the brake parts, lol. At the moment, i dont' have 100% complete setups. I'm missing a few bolts here and there, and no parking brake cables, or brake lines. But, I have calipers, pads, complete hub and control arm assemblies, and even the GT struts :). Lemme tell you, they are HEAVY. I can carry both sides, but they're over 50lbs each side. It would be expensive as all hell to ship. Prolly $60/side within the continental US. I have someone on Teamswift interested in my spare set at the moment, but if he falls through, i'll let you guys know. And yes, everything on the rear end, except the strut and control arm is different. Different hubs, bearings, everything. And the parking brake cables, and rubber lines are completely different.
