what kind of eclipse is this?

hi everyone, I called this guy today about an eclipse that hes advertised adn i'm thinking about buynig. He says its a 1992 eclipse GSR4. its turbo adn 4wd. Can anyone give me any info on this car like its horsepower figures, quarter mile or anything like that? I'm seeing this car on sunday so i wanna know exactly what this is coz i've never heard of a GSR eclipse.

I'd say your friend is full of crap. Someone else here can give you the run down of model names for 1st gens.

The only turbo AWD eclipes is the GSX. And I am sure that if this guy doesn't know what kind of car he drives, he probably doesn't know that you have to change the oil, replace plugs, etc. I would steer clear of that. Unless he is dumb enough to sell it to you for like $500. :lol:

Well, maybe he just put a grs emblem on it like most ricers do, I'v seen a mustang with a skyline GTR sign (laughed my ass off) so when you go see it check for that.

You do know that the Mustang was a Roush Mustang GTR(Roush)

Yeah it comes with it. Its a Roush stang. As for that eclipse i think the guy is just confused :screwy:

Zwrangler try to get the vin # then look it up with CAR FAX that should help you determine what type of eclipse it is

yeah dude, they came out with a Cobra "R". Its pretty slick, nice body kit and aerodynamics, and must be a huge engine too.

As for the eclipse, I have heard of GSRs before. In Japan. They also have 1G Eclipse Targa's in Germany.

Thats crazy never heard of an eclipse GSR. So what do they call the integras in japan

Has anyone seen (I think an 04) a mustang that's chameleon with chameleon seats. I don't know if the one I saw at the ford store was stock. I thought I saw a sticker on it, but it could have been a trade. I would have paid attention more, but its a ford.

yup, thats what it looks like. so what do you guys think?? OKay, alternatively i can also get a 1995 turbo eclipse. Are the 95's AWD too?? and which one would you guys suggest as a car. I'm looking for something can can easily be modified to give me more power. So do i go for the 95 or 92?? and do they both have 4g63 enigines?? and what hp is in a stock 95? sorry to ask so many questions, but its a big decision finding a new car. thanks for the help anyway.

Zwrangler its hard to find the specs for the gsr4 eclipse I searched all over the net... nothing with the specs on it, just pics. look at the 97-99 best of all in looks and some come awd (gsx). :2cents:

I'd go as new as possible, but my budget only allows 95-96 as the newest i can afford. Maaaaaan i can't wait to get a turbo of some sort.....wooooosh, i love that sound almost as much as the grunty sound of a V8 :iceslolan

i think the ultimate combo would be turbo spooling/bov noises WITH a V8 grunt...that would be just off the hook.

HEy GSTRacer i saw an all chamelon Mustang last week by my Apt. in Orange County. I thought it was custom also but I didnt see the back end of it. If you have seen one also they might be some super rare paint scheme. Who knows...

If that's from Japan, then how come it is a left hand drive.

Maybe there is a type of Eclipse that we don't have, but who would spend the money to import one? You could modify ours and be faster.

well like i already said, i've decided to look for a 95-97 eclipse GST in manual, only its really taking forever to find one in a manual.
The guy was asking around $2500 for the "GSR" eclipse, but thats here in the UAE not in the U.S. mate. oh and it is left hand drive and from japan, all cars here are LHD and many are from japan.

and before someone says get a GSX, i wish i could but we don't have 95+GSX's in my country unless i can find that 1 in a million eclipse. till then, the search continues for my GST.
