Upgrades

Dose any have any ideas for inexpensive upgrades for a 98 contour 4cyl. SE. I am looking for a cold air kit also.

im not aware of any cold air intake kits for the 2.0L. Spmotorsports however, does sell a Weapon R intake for the 2.0L. There isnt really inexpensive upgrades that are cheap for the contour, or for any car for that matter. And in case you were wondering, the resister chip on ebay wont give you 20 hp. Its just a 2 cent resister you can buy at radio shack.

is the 98 i4 contour teh zetec? if so, pully, intake, K&N filter, spark plug wires, and chip will wake it up nicely, cost about 600 total.

What kind of chip? Also where to find it. I have seen those resistors all over E-Bay, what a waist of money.

No there were two engines. the ztec was the better of the two.

All 4 cylinders in the contour are the zetec. All V6's were the duratec.

i ment zetec with VCT

Is there any kit to replace the stock air box?

i have heared of ones that make its a round airbox instead of rectangular, but getting a K&N filter, good intake, usually does just as well.

after 98 i think all zetec contours had VCT.

wasnt sure if the contours started in 98 or 99

the contour first year was 95, I think.

i ment the vct in the contours
