Need info for a 91 Eclipse GSX...

Ok, I have a friend with a 91 GSX who doesn't know very much about cars. The other day he had me install a BOV, and when I popped the hood I could see a significant amount of oil leaking from the turbo and engine. I told him about it, and started installing the BOV. As soon as I unhooked the intake hose from the original, I saw oil dripping out, and noticed more farther up the line. It was obvious that the turbo had been leaking for a while, and that it was forcing oil through the intake.

Now, bare with me, I am not a DSM guy... In fact, I mostly work with my Z cars and some Hondas friends have. I need to know if the turbo on a GSX going out will do the same as on a Z and pretty much kill the engine. Also, where is a cheap place he could get a new one? I don't know what the turbo is stock, it looks like it's about a T3/T4, but I thought I heard that they had something else in DSMs.... Anyway, I need to find him a new turbo, and I need to see if anyone has an old exhaust manifold around (His is really bad off). Thanks!

check dsmtrader.com for a mani and turbo the stock turbo on a 1g is a 14b. you can find a 14b on 90-94 plymouth lasers, eagle talons and mitsu eclipse. i think that the automatic has a slightly smaller turbo so try and get one from a 5 speed. t3-t4 is a pretty big turbo for our cars so unless he has a lot of supporting mods its not a very good turbo to put on it.

I think he's just going to part it out or sell it and buy one in better shape. Of course, I wouldn't give him much for a car this bad off, but oh well.
