Ram 97 V-6 Aut Transmission Problems

I have a question. I have a problem with the 3rd shift Sometimes works but sometimes not, according to the diagnostic shop my transmission was welded and need a repair.

someone had this problem before?

Mine did that sorta. It wouldn't shift into reverse or out of second until it warmed up. It did it for 6 months straight, then suddenly, it started working perfectly.
