frequent fog light burnout

I have replaced at least a half dozen fog light bulbs in my 2000 Intrigue but neither headlight bulb in the first three years of ownership. At first the bulbs were replaced under warranty but now it spoils a fifty dollar bill each time I have to get the pair of bulbs replaced. I had the bulbs replaced yesterday and noticed tonight that the light housings both have a lot of condensation inside them. This moisture was not visible to me before possibly because when the lights were working the heat from the bulbs kept the inside of the housings dry. No doubt, however, the moisture was still getting in there which no doubt contributed to the bulb failures. Have any other Intrigue owners found their fog light bulbs to fail frequently and is there a fix?

My suggestion is, check the switches/relays. Mine burnt out on me sorta halfway, i kept replacing bulbs, but they werent the problem, it was the housing, that had melted away :(

On my '98 the housing broke once on one side and I replaced it. Still has original bulbs @ 150,000. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the car!! :banghead:

Also, check to make sure that the correct bulbs and fuses are used. Too much wattage and they can burn out.

I have had the foglight burnout issues as well. It has only been the right fog light. I have replaced it 4 times in the last year and a half. Autozone, has them relatively cheap thought. i think 7 bucks. This is the only light issue I have had. I did have a directional light go out all the time on my 99 Intrigue that I had before I got the 2000. I had to replace the entire socket in order for the problem to be fixed. That cost me like 20 bucks total. I got the the socket from the dealer though, no parts stores had them. I have a feeling I am going to have to do the same thing for the fog light as well. I do have the light flicker issue as well. I am taking it in tomorrow to have the alternjator replaced. Hopefully that will take care of it.

Thank you for your comments. I spoke to the service manager and he admitted that there was condensation. Told me to dry it out with a hair dryer!!!???? Does that make any sense?
The bulbs cost me around 12 bucks each Canadian, but when two give out and I have to pay labor to get them installed it's around 50 bucks. A lot for a few days. I assume they're the right wattage. Do you replace them yourself? Any tips?

My Front-Right signal light/day running light has gone out several (about 5) times in the past 6 months.
There only about 2 bucks, I replace them my self. The 2nd to last time I went to a different Autozone by work and they suggested "Bulb Grease". I never heard of such a thing-especially me grewing up with my dad being a mechanic! Well, it didn't work because I think the socket needs to be replaced-looks a lil' melted. Its weird, the bulb looks melted/burned out everytime, both filaments are good and if you tweak it just right, its still functional. Yesterday I replaced it with a heave duty, about 5 bucks for 2 bulbs. Once that one burns out, I'm gonna replace the socket myself. Its very easy to replace.

Btw, 140K Intrigue GLS and I have NEVER replaced the headlights or brake lights yet-knock on wood!
