top conversion

My buddy just bought a '92 Wrangler with a hard top and full, hard doors. Another of his buds has given him a complete soft top setup taken from another '92 Wrangler. We've gotten everything installed but the hard doors won't close. My half doors work fine but his hard doors won't even come close to closing. They hit about half way up the windshield post. We both thought that the doors should work especially since all the equipment came from 1992s. Any one tried this before? What's the secret?
