Temp Gauge?

i have a 84 s10 blazer 4x4 and the temp gauge doesnt work i followed the wires from the sencer and they were bare like the plastic or ruber was melted off kinda past the carb but wut i was wondering was do the wires go strait to the gauge or does it goto the computer first?

Don't sweat the small stuff. Repair the bare sections by splicing in some new wire. No, they should go to the guage in an '84 if you are on the guage sensor.
