2002 Tahoe Back Windshield Wiper

I'm having a problem with my back windshield wiper. The wiper works fine, but I can't get any wiper fluid to come out. I've checked the fluid level and it is full. The fluid will work fine on the front windshield. Is there a second container just for the back? Or is this a malfunction? I have about 45K miles on my truck. Would this be covered under the extended warranty?

The old 2-door tahoe used to have a rear resevoir, so it's a possibility. However, they seem to have gone away from that concept...even my 97 only has 1 tank. (someone will know for sure!)

Just had the dealer fix the same problem on my 2002 under warranty

I have the same problem with my 03 tahoe. What did the dealer replace? is this something we can fix ourself?

I'm pretty sure it comes off the reservoir in the front. On my 2003, the hose had uncoupled in two places...one near the driver side firewall and the other back near the spare tire. Just switch it to wash and see if it drips out somewhere. The tubing is a plastic type material.

Alternately, push a needle or pin into the hole at the washer outlet on the wiper. Sometimes dirt gets jammed up in there.

I have had a few issues with my 2001 Hoe. The main reservoir in the engine compartment should be for both wipers as mine. The reservoir has two pump motors for each window.Just turn the inginition to the on position, not start and push the rear wiper button for water, you should be able to hear the motor come on.If not, then will need a pump replacement. Other than a bad pump, it could be a pinch line or cllogged along the way. It's a simple set-up. The line runs from the pump to the back window as the front. One thing to check as one of my problems was the line had rotted through, next to the battery and water was coming out there.The lines run from the pump up behind battery and along the left fender,two black nylon plastic lines.If there holes in the line, water will be on the ground.Other than that your going to have to look at the electrical to the pump if the above does not help.Let us know how you make out.If its the pump, will let you know where to get one and how to replace.
