The Ford AODE will eat about 20% of the engine's horsepower. 382 rwhp = 478 Flywheel HP................I saw this on a website and was wondering what it meant. What is an AODE?

AOD is Ford's automatic overdirve transmission
AOD=automatic Over Drive :naughty: or DOA as I like to call it.
The AOD-E, E=electronic is Ford's AOD with the shifting being controlled Electroncially instead of all through hydraulics. The AOD-E has some improvements over the original AOD to make it stronger such as 2" OD band instead of 11/2" but it is still not super strong.

So is this only on automatics, or would my 5-speed have it as well?
