My 16 day streak is still going...but read this shit

Ok, so here is a lovely story of the wonderful people we have guarding our school.


So Im leaving to go home, as always. Im driving down the same road I got my uber-ticket (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=293412) on 2 weeks ago, making certain I was doing 25mph. As Im nearing the stop sign at the end of the road, I hear woop woop, and see the same Tahoe flying down the street, lights flashing. So what to I think to myself? "Fucking shit, what now?"

So I stop at the stop sign, go, and pull over on the other side of the street. He pulls up behind me, and I roll down my window. He comes up to my car, (same guy as before), and says "Sir, is there a gun in your car?".

I say, "no" of course. He has one of the Vice Principles with him, who comes up and says, we got a report of someone in a red sedan who just left the lot with a handgun in the car. Well, perfect, the one day my car breaks and I have to drive my mom's red Jetta. So the cop asks me to step out of the vehicle and come to the back, where I empty my pockets, and then put my hands on the car. Then he frisks me.

Now, while hes doing that, another cop pulls up and gets out. So picture this situation:

Im leaning on a car thats not mine, getting frisked by a cop, with another cop and one of the vice principles standing behind me, with two Tahoes with lights flashing, while just about everyone I know is driving by because its the beginning of the most popular hour to leave school for lunch.

So when they find nothing on me, both cops search the car. So the people who are driving by now see me and the vice principle "talking" while 2 fat cops ransack a car, thats not mine.

Well, needless to say they didnt find anything, so they told me I could go. But what Im wondering, is in all this time they are searching my car, what about the kid with the gun? Where did he go?

hahaha I had that happen to me too, I just got caught speeding and they pulled me over and when the cop handed me my ticket my dunbass friend open his big mouth and said " at least he didnt check the trunk" :uhoh: anyways the cop in a very snug voice asks me to get out of the vehicle and open the trunk. Unfortunatly right on top of the pile of junk in the trunk was my duffle bag containing an A-5 milsim paintball gun. For those of you who dont know an A-5 is based on an Mp5 submachine gun. That was real fun to explain to him hile his had was on his sidearm :uhoh: :uhoh:

My point WAS - a VW Jetta isn't exactly a vehicle used by the 'criminal minded'.

No offence launcher, but any vehicule can be used by the crminal minded. Other than that, Id advise you to keep your trunk and glove compartment locked at all times. Legally, cops cannot search whatever isn't in the open without a warrant.

My little bro drives a Jetta and often there's a gun in it (because he's going hunting). I drive a brand spanking new WRX and I often have a gun in my car (same reason). My little sister drives a Civic (ditto). Jetta ain't got nothing to do with it. And also, if a cop pulls me over even if I didn't do anything, I'm polite and stuff because the next time I see that cop he might give me a break. Actually, being polite the first time has gotten me more than one warning (rather than a ticket) on the occasion I was caught speeding. Cops are people, too. They make decisions based on first impressions just like anyone else.

Best example: I got pulled over for not having a front license plate (I live in TX, it's the law, apparently). I just got the car that week, and I hadn't put on any license plates at all, so the cops just ran my license and gave the car a once-over through the windows. The cop asked about the hood scoop, the AWD, etc. We chatted while the driver's license was running. Cop handed me my license, reminded me to put the front plate on when they came in the mail, and bade me farewell. About two weeks later, cop pulls me over for speeding (47 in a 30). I explain to him that the WRX goes much faster with much more ease than my Saturn does. He thanked me for putting on the license plates, gave me a written warning, and bade me farewell. I bet the next time I see him I'll get a ticket, but hopefully I won't have to worry about that.

How is it that YOU always managed to get hassled, while citizens such as myself slip through the cracks? I have NEVER been hassled by a cop, EVER. Cops don't just "give you shit". They can usually tell before they even get out of their cruiser whether you're going to be another headache or not. They do it day in and day out, they get good at it. If they're giving you shit, its probably for a reason. I have acted to cops that have pulled me over for minor discretions, in an appropriate manner as you stated earlier. Yet I have been told that I'am suspicious, that Iam bullshiting, that Iam kissing their ass.

I dont know where you live, (sounds like a fairytale) to have never been given flack by a cop. But it does happen, you see, just because you have a history of no cop acting like an asshole to you doesnt mean it wont happen.

there are good cops and there are bad cops. i know some cops through either church or family friends, and i know that some of them are nice, but then there are others who are major dicks to everybody. Case in point, my friend Tom has a black 93 Thunderbird, and cops have followed him to his home for no reason, just looking for something to pull him over in, another cop in my town flashed a mag-lite into his windshield, blinding him and when he stopped, the cop elbow-dropped onto his hood(causing a crazy dent in it that was seen for a week before he could fix it) and the cop tried to say that he was going to run him over.
I have had cops harass me while I was with my friends because we were walking in a group of 5 down the street to the corner store.
My girlfriend has been harassed at work by a bullshit cop more than once, for stupid shit. he'd come in and start harassing her for no reason. just the other day she was stopped by a cop and asked how fast she was going (she was doing 36 in a 35).....and the cop let her go...totally not needed, just a damn waste of 5 minutes.
one of our friends has also had a bullshit cop dealing with him, they busted into his house, and he had a fistfight with the cop...they were rolling along the floor punching each other. They tried to say that he pistol-whipped the cop, but we both know that he's never had a gun (he's visually-impared and therefore has no use for one, plus he's a stoner and is peaceful by nature, i'd trust him with my damn house)

When somebody broke into my house and i GOT jacked, what do you think the cops did about it?? NOTHING! They just come ask some questions and forget about you.

Why is this the wrong thread for me?? I've been yelled at by cops for doing stupid stuff with my friends (outside police stations...), had "discussions" with cops because I was trespassing in the city watershed (didn't realize it; apparently I unwittingly commited a class D felony and got off without even a warning... hmm perhaps because I'm polite and not an ass?), pulled over by cops because of "suspicious manuvering" (not a bullshit reason because what I did certainly might have been done by someone that didn't want the cops tailing them; I didn't even know there was a cop behind me. Got off without even a warning on that one as well) and improper use of my foglights (let off with no ticket or warning, once again), and have even pissed off a cop doing traffic control. (It was dark out, couldn't tell why someone was in the street with a flashlight or why traffic was stopped... Apparently my low brake fluid and the gravel on the road from the recent snowstorm made it that much easier to lock up my front brakes at like 7 mph when I had to apply more pedal pressure to gradually stop at the downhill stop sign.) When you hear the cop yelling at you when you're inside the car with all the windows closed and the music on, that is a very bad thing. Again, no ticket, no warning. Why don't I think I've ever been harassed by the cops? Because when they get pissed at me or pull me over, its never because of a bullshit reason that didn't happen.

As far as you're concerned, when the normal person is behind that badge, they might as well be god. Why? Think about it. If you give them a reason (or even no reason, according to you, which would make my arguement all that much more plausible), they can take your time, your money, your car, your freedom, even your life with that lovely 9 mm strapped to their belt, if they deem it fit. Someone that has the authority to legally inconvenience you, legally give you a citation, legally impound your car, legally put you in jail, and even to legally shoot you, should they feel you pose a threat to their life, is someone whose good side I would most definitely want to be on. Why you don't want to be on their good side is pretty far beyond me.

And yes I do live in a fairlytale. It's quite nice, I enjoy it on a daily basis. And yes, my driving a lexus and looking rich with my oakleys probably does help... although if I drove like an ass and treated the cops like an ass as well, it wouldn't matter what I drove or how much of a prep I looked. I'd get screwed. BTW, I don't look too incredibly rich around here. 16 year olds in m3's and sl500's are not an inconceivably rare occurence...

If someone steals your stuff, pretty much the only way your gettin it back is if A) the person pawns it off and that pawn shop sends reports of all stuff they buy the the LOCAL police B) the person who stole it gets busted and they find stolen stuff on him. How is any of that irrelevant? You were the one that stated this might be the wrong thread for me because I said that the cops don't harrass me. I was giving examples of interactions I've had with the police that you would likely have thought were harrassment, which were really not.

Secondly, if your an asshole to them, they will purposely inconvenience you. If you continue to cause them problems, perhaps lying to them about whatever it might be, they will be able to find a reason to ticket you. If you continue to be obstinate and refuse to cooperate, they may ask you step out of the car, at which point you might be arrested and your car impounded. I can also recall a situation that happened here in Oregon about 2 years ago in which an officer shot and killed an unarmed man during a traffic stop because the man was causing such a commotion with his uncooperation that, in the confusion, the officer felt that his life may have been in danger, later stating that he believed the man had been reaching for a concealed weapon. So yes, it has happened before, so before you go on being so ignorant about what has, can, and will likely happen again, go ahead and study the facts.

I dont live in oregon so things are obviously different there then they are here in los angeles.
I do know the facts, i know that i am smart enough not to assualt or physically abuse a cop, or verbaly abuse him to the point where he would cuff me. Being a dick to a cop and implying that i didnt do anything wrong is not going to get me arrested.

My argument is plain and simple, If a cop is hassling the public or abusing his athority i am not going to respect him, because he does not deserve to be respected.

If someone steals your stuff, pretty much the only way your gettin it back is if A) the person pawns it off and that pawn shop sends reports of all stuff they buy the the LOCAL police B) the person who stole it gets busted and they find stolen stuff on him. My approach would be to let them do what they will at the traffic stop, and then serve them some pure OWNAGE in court :p

When it really comes down to it, I could try to defend that I'm not rich and I'm not a prep and I don't live in a fairy tale, but I find that its usually easier to let people think what they will when I pull up in a Lexus, to let them tell me I'm a prep, to let them think I'm rich, and to let them think I'm living in a fairy tale, all without denying it. Why? Because its probably true. I let them find out for themselves why I'm not who they thought I would be when I got out of the shiny Lexus in the parking lot. I let them find out for themselves why I'm no different, why I'm no better. I let them find out for themselves that just because I come from an affluent family doesn't make me a pompous ass or a spoiled brat.

I hate cops too but the funny thing is you are never innocent. I did just as you suggst b/c i ws NOT speeding. I called the cop names told him to let me see the radar asked him to call his superior. All the while he just kept on w/ the ticket. I took him to court and was found guilty because there was no evidence except my word vs. his. Obviously since he was a cop he wouldn't lie to save his own ass so I must have been guilty. The only reason he pulled me over in the first place was because it was a small town sherriff and I had fuck*d his daugter during freshman year in high school. anyway the only thing I learned is to keep my fucki*g mouth shut to get the least amount of charges.
( A "tip" is probable cause, and a cops word is evidence enough for a speeding conviction, no radar needed.)
