While getting my 2001 grand am washed at a car wash they broke my passenger side mirror. I was wondering if the mirrors off of the alero will fit in my car since they are the same frames.

Why not call the local wrecking yard and see if they have one to match. The alero mirror should work but it may be slightly different in design.

Thanks, I want to get different mirrors because my mirrors start to whistle when i start hitting about 60 - 70 mph. thats why I was thinking of the alero's.

On two seperate occasions someone has ripped BOTH my driver's side mirror AND my passenger side mirrors completely out of the door with only the wires holding them on. Funny huh! Well, my husband simply "screwed" the base back into the frame. If that makes since. You'd think these mirrors wouldn't be so "cheaply" put on.

Like nolapd said, if you look at the base where the mounting studs are broken you can unscrew/break off the already broken plastic from the stud and screw the studs back into the base. Carefully mind you. Then you can remount the mirror. To access the nuts that hold the the studs to the door just pop plastic tweeter housing off the door.

Usually the reason the mirrors whistle is because one or more of the three studs are already broken away from the base causing the mirror to move away from the door slightly allowing air to slice between the mirror and the door.
