wheel cleaning

Hello all.

I have a set of older 15x7 aluminum isuzu wheels with the 6 hole pattern. Whoever had them before me tried to clean them with a HEAVY wire brush or something and ground down past the machining lines! anyway I am trying to bring the shine back out of them,

If anyone has any experience in refinishing old aluminum wheels please give me some advice.
