is it possible to change the drums int he rear of the escort to disk brakes.. more importantly anti lock disk brakes?

You can do it but it would be extremely expensive since the antilocks would require a new computer as well as an entirely new braking system. As far as changing the drums to discs that is possible and you should be able to find kits that will work online.

up here in hamilton the escort is prehaps the most seen car, in junk yards and on the streets.. if i were to pull this system froma later model car wouldi be able to intagrate it onto this 93? And is this computer you speak of seprate?

It should work but it would be a tremendous amount of work. You would need the master cylinder, the abs unit, all the wheel hubs with the antilock sensors, and an abs computer. It can be taken off the car as well but I would suspect that the wiring on your current car would not be designed to handle the new computer. Most of the cars with antilock brakes are specifically designed for it. You would probably be ahead to look for an escort that is equipped with the features you want and buy it instead of trying to equip the one you have. It would be much cheaper and a lot less time consuming.

yep have to look into that one, see if i can find an escort with such features and high milage udner 1k
