Top Speed test (vid)

Today I went out to test my new car on the German Autobahn and it was quite a good run! I managed to hit 230km/h on the speedo! over 7500rpm with that speed! we had to scream to talk to each other :)
I know the speedo isn't completely accurate but still I thought it was pretty impressive. The car felt relatively stable at that speed, more stable than my old hatch at 200km/h! But I'm not going to make a habit out of this, I just wanted to know what this car was capable of :D
The passenger tried to get it all on film so go and have a look :D

p.s You can't really read the speedo but the last digit on it is 240 (just so you can "read" the speedo on the vid)

Damn cool video, bracer!:bandit: 230km/h is a lot and it´s even possible that you really drove that fast IMO!
I haven´t done a top-speed test with my Prelude yet.:(

40 Euro for a couple of sprints, pretty expensive if you ask me.
But offcourse you don't have to compete.

I believe it is the first part of the E31 to köln just over the border, very quit piece of highway, I only saw 2 cars.

Nah I didn't went to Zandvoort, but it was on the news yesterday on SBS6

There were alot of VW GTI there, and I saw some REXes racing against each other
The reporter asked one guy if he liked the "legal" drag races on a track
and if they were going to race again "illegal"

I think he was driving a VW GTI

No, I mean from hengelo 2 almelo... the last piece of highway. Regularly there are very few cars so it's possible to reach about 200 there (in my car)
The piece in germany is indeed very bumpy, always like it 2 drive to index or so, speeding! or just for fun going there on a saturday : )

You know, you could post in the forum help section. Their used to be a post their where all PH members could post their post count so it could be returned on AF. How do you think I got +1600 posts in such a short time?

I did :D Don't ask me the speed because my speedo only reach 230 and it was well above that :D
On a Dyno the rev limit is at about 241Kmh (dyno numbers for my top speed).
Unfortunattly here in Portugal we don't have any autobhans where we can test for top speed (you can but you have to be carefull to not get caught ;)).

Nope, can't reach redline in 5th (bad combo tyres - engine:D ). I reach my top speed in 4th gear (+/-180kmp), if I shift up in 5th and keep my pedal down, my speed drops to 160kmp.
