I actually know the answer to this one. :)
It has to do with an old english superstition that people feared that the dead would come back from the grave so they would tie up their hands and feet, and nail the coffin shut.

it is like the point of insurance for something.
you are betting against yourself (or what someone else might do) that something will happen that is worse than however much you pay a year to have someone else pay for what ever happens IF something bad does happen. ---does that make any sense? if not i'll try to clarify

yes that does make sense.
It is always good to stay insured because there are alot of bad drivers out there just waiting to crash into you.

It's because back in the day, centuries ago. When people's houses had straw roofs, animals would burrow into the straw to get warm. But when it rained it got slippery and they would fall off, so people looking out from the inside of the house would say "it's raining cats & dogs"

thats for the people working grave yard. Since they usually only have one attendant. He locks the door so no one comes in when he goes to the rest room and robs them blind.
