word, alright keep me updated. i think instead of aftermarket door locks i'm just going to go with an alarm. it worked pretty damn good on my old 96 coupe.

Buy the locks from any DEI dealer and the windows from any SPAL dealer. Those 2 are the best. It does require some knowledge on these to be sucessful at it.

I heard the power windows sucked, but i havent actually witnessed myself, and i have seen the lock work, and they are good. Usually they can be bought with an alarm system for less than $100.

Power window kits by Autoloc are good. I have installed them and have had no problems. Same goes for Autoloc door locks and trunk release. I have both installed in my car. take a look at my cardomain. I have a picture of the actuator for the door locks. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/528935 . Here is the link to the window kit

Well, I have done 100's of cars with the brands I mentioned and only had one come back but that was 10 years, 90k miles later which only a simple swap of the lock motor was needed.

Take it from ponchonutty and sofast...they really know more than me on this matter, because they have seen many locks and windows where i have only seen a few.

I have an Excaliber alarm ATV-1000. It has all the hookups for power locks. I bought the a DEI lock set. Works GREAT!! Only issue I had was the wiring of the relays, as the alarm does not have enough power for the locks and requires two relays, one for lock, another for unlock. I bought the Spal window kit, but have yet to install them. Glad to hear that someome gives them the :bigthumb:

didn't you get the 5wire locks or did you get the 2wire???? The 5wire kit comes with it's own harnesses and relays. Plus, if you do not add keyless, they'll control any other lock motor because they have the switches built inside them.

The driver's side has 5 wire and all other doors have two wire. Not sure what switches you are talking about. As far as the relay's, I was talking about the hook-up of the door lock controller to the alarm output. The alarm output is a 100mA or so and that isn't enough power to driver the power lock circuit, that is where I had to install the two relay's.

Sorry, I tried to do a search on the web to show you what I mean so I'll try to explain. My kits come with 2 locks with 5 wires and 2 locks with 2 wires. The locks normally rest at ground so when you switch either of the 5wire locks, it then activates the relays to move all of the other locks. There is no need to install a button or anything else for that matter.

I understand what you are saying. My driver's door has 5 wire and the other 3 doors have 2 wire. The two relay's are only for the alarm output, keyless. I was going to add a switch just for convenience for the front occupants.
