Any idea what this does?

I just bought a used 2000 Town and Country Limited. After a few days, I noticed what looks like a red LED mounted in front of the instruments in the dash.

The salesman didn't mention anything about that when I bought the vehicle... The vehicle is not equiped with an alarm system (not that I am aware of)
Any idea?
