Ok so awhile back, I was at a friends house in Bloomington and he has a 1986 T-type WH-1 (very nice car) and we were talking about turbo Buick related stuff. Well there was this kid there that drive a FWD turbo eclipse and he aparently did not like my tone of voice. ( I was apperently talking like I had the fastest thing alive.) :icon16: Anyway to make a long story short, he got in my face and tried to start shit. (What do you expect, he is a circle track hornet guy :rolleyes: ) So after he "Put me in my place." I asked him if he wanted to back up his words. So he said yes and we raced. I won. three weeks after that he sold the car.


Thats not all, I had to set up the story.

My Buddy from Bloomington just called me with a "warning." I guess this guy is on his way to Florida to pick up another eclipse. He wanted my buddy to call me and to tell me to get ready to get my ass handed to me :rolleyes: . I don't think he realizes that I now have ported and polished heads and a cam. so the poll is, How many clams should I race him for??????

I'd never underestimate a Gnx or t-type, and I don't think there are too many people who would underestimate one I mean if you have any knowledge of cars your going to know a modded gm turbo 6 isn't a joke. I'd say race for 200. Because DSM's can be made real quick for real cheap too so who knows what's done to it. What does you're car hit in the 1/4?

This is a true *sumwhat* comment. Although I always quote the F&F series when making fun of a ricer, I watched 2f2f again last night (i own them both) and they never claimed thier cars are the fastest. Note the race between the "American Muscle" and the imports. First run import lost by alot, second run they had to cheat to beat the american. Im not saying that 2f2f is racing-correct, but they do admit that an bigger engine left them in dust.

I'd race for $300-$500. Unless he has put like $3000 into it, I'd say you will do just fine.

In 2f2f they talk about the quality of american muscle...i luv when tyrese is talking trash in his eclipse and reving...then you hear the other guys hood shaing when he revs...now bout this punk he seems like daddys lil rich kid so watch out because it sounds like hes got money to blow...and 300-400 may not be much for him, but it might be alot for you

take him for slips...i don't know how fast or what kind of hp your putting out, and i kno that a eclipse turbo is a force to be reckoned w/ given a little bit of money it can run 13's and on the F&F it can run 10's w/ no turbo (look at the under the hood shots...a cold air and a t4 turbo?! i didn't see one).... how fast are those turbo buicks anyway?

if he's getting an AWD one, be prepared to get spanked the first 3 seconds or so....

My car runs 11.78@113 MPH on pump gas. 11.14 on race fuel and 27 PSI. With the prited heads,intake, and cam. I should be able to run 11.4 all day on pump gas and I hope maybe a 10.90 something on race fuel and 27 PSI. I run 24 PSI on pump gas and alcohol injection.

I would run slicks with him.... My worse 60' time with slicks has been a 1.71 sec and my best is a 1.64 60'. I am not worried about AWD.

BTW my power outputs before that headsintake and cam is 442 HP and 570 ft-lbs

As in any gambling, bet as if you would lose. So bet only money that you can afford to lose.

lol if i remember correctly...his whole CAR was TILTING when he revved...but n e ways...yea...watch out for those types of people...they think they can do anything...

hell save up and get extra money to loose...i doubt that he will win...it takes more time and money than most eclipse drivers will put into a car to make it run the kinds of times you are tlaking about...11sec. with an inline 4 is harder than most want to fool with...13's are a good place to shoot for with 4 bangers...though i have seen 9's out of talons :angryfire :silly: ...

i've seen a nice eclipse that if you just glance at it u'd think its stock...but it runs 11s and its a daily driver...that was in a magazine tho...lol

There's a guy runnin 7.55 in a dsm, without spray.

Update it is a turbo AWD with a t3/t4 turbo pushing 20 psi and some other minor mods as well. It looks like rice

Bah, I dug around for where I thought I saw it but no such luck.

Maybe someone else knows the specifics, otherwise I'm SOL on the proof, man.

I dont know of any sprayless 7.55s, but I do have a list of fast DSM times. However these cars are very heavily modified.

Thats badd ass as hell but, a RWD eclipse does not coun't at least when it comes to street cars

yeah, I dont think it's street legal... and it's a drag queen.

the fastest awd dsm is shep's at 8.76, so I dont think you have much to worry about. I wouldnt bet it all... but you should win.

I highly doubt this kid went out and bought a 7 second eclipse... It's a Florida car, so the body is probably in near perfect condition.... That's all the eclipse is gonna have in this race, better paint....

I would say just race for a couple hundred, the kids obviously not stable judging by your first post, god knows what he'll do...

lol florida cars don't necessarily have better paint...my grandparents moved up about a year ago and the paint on their truck was fading and it juts looked nasty...then again, they just let it sit out in the sun all day...they used to live in Sebring...

I wouldn't race for slips on the sheer fact that you JUST DON'T KNOW what he has done to it. Of course he is from Florida, but maybe his dad is worth like 45 million and let him put $30,000 into it. Highly unlikely, but very possible. Just race for the cash. If you get a chance to check his engine and he gets to check yours, and if it is safe, race for slips...otherwise, cash should be fine man.

HAAR, race for a couple of dollars to buy each other a soda. Then have a laugh, but I seriously doubt he's gonna "have a laugh" if he's trying to truely be the hardass your putting him off to be.
