typhoon intake?

I was looking at intakes today and I came across one called the Professional products typhoon intake. It claimed to be the exact same as the Edelbrock. Is there any truth to this. If so I might be interested, this baby was cheap.

often products that claim to be 'the same' as something else are lower quality copies. typically they cost less to manufacture and purchase, but they are not all that great quality-wise. i'd just get the edelbrock unit and not have to worry about quality and fitment problems.

Is the Edelbrock a good intake?, are there better ones out there?

the main difference lies in the runner length, which has a large impact on your powerband. different intakes for different applications. for example, an intake with long runners make lots of high rpm power, and as such are good for n/a motors, whereas shorter runners move the power lower in teh rpms and work better with forced induction.

somebody correct me if i'm wrong, i could be mistaken here.

Is there a good "all around" intake? I want to go with a supercharger eventually, but that is not for awhile, and I don't want to have to buy an intake now for my application and then buy another when I move onto forced induction. One more question, is a motor with nitrous considered n/a or forced induction.

trick flow track heat or an edelbrock performer II would suit you fine for an intake w/ room to grow.
