Rear Light Failure

Having problems with my rear lights ... I have a '97 528i, had the problem with the lights and purchased the LED rear lights under belief that the problem would be rectified ... now the new LED lights have been knocked out ... I need to know what needs to be replaced ... right now I have no rear lights whatsoever ...
