Problem of 3 years old primer in spray can

guys, I like to ask if anyone experienced in using Spraycan Primer which has been idle for 3 years?

I used the spray can for primering my bimmer, and today I found some cracks on the spray areas. Is it related to the weather? The humidity is pretty low these days. It seems strange to me because I sprayed the primer 1 week ago, and it has already dried after few hours later, but it turns crack after 1 week?

The only thing I can think of is that I idle the spray too long. yaya, my paints have been sit here for 3 years, I never think I will ever post a project as my friends said, but finally I started this hobbies again! :iceslolan

p.s. Before spraying, I already warm and shake the spray can well in faq.

Sounds like a plastic/solvent reaction problem. What type of primer was it?

There might be a problem with your prep.
A light sanding and a good cleaning is important. I've only had problems with primer sticking to metal though, and that was when I sprayed the initial coat a bit 'dry'.
