How hard would it be to put in a 4.6L v8 in a 02 v6? and how much would you be looking at spending after buying the engine/tranny?

How about a 4.6Lcobra engine
or the 5.4L cobra R?

or would it just be better to buy the car

hey, he's back

it's a lot of trouble and can get very expensive. i'd say buy a v8 car and forget about it. and i'm sure most guys on here would agree with me.

Buy the GT to start with. If you can't afford the insurance on a newer GT get a foxbody 5.0.

This is only a job if you want to make a total Hot Rod. Otherwise it would be cheaper and alot less work to just trade in the v6 for the GT. BTW Screw the wimp 4.6, drop a 393 stroker in there.

Its alot of work alot of work alot of work. but hey if u wanna do it i wouldnt recommend buying a corba engine they are extremely expensive. Build ur own engine the way u want. I mean u alrdy have a working car so u can save money and just build. you wont be in a rush so u can save somemoney and learn alot. Good Luck

The 4.6 is a good engine, otherwise ford would not be using it. But, since he has to fab up every thing any way just go with the cheap and bigger cube engine. The 4.6 is a newer more advanced technology and you may end op spending alot more on one. BTW, why did ford go with 4.6 and instead of, say a 5.4. Give you much more torque to compete with the ls1's that always give us trouble.

I knew I was going to get someones attention with that one. I Have been spanked by a 4.6, but in my defense the air tube on my exhaust was not hooked up.
