Car not running 91 laser

I have a 1991 laser 2.0 auto.

I had the trans pulled and fixed by a local shop. When leaving after its 3rd visit to the shop, I smelled a hot electrical oder and the car shut down.

After towing home and doing some diagnostics, the car runs when fuel is squirted in the intake, but not on its own. Also it has fuel pressure at the injector rail. Spark is great and not the problem.

Can anyone help me out??? I know there are some Chrysler guru's on this forum, so let me know what you think.

you have cooked some wires somewhere (hot electrical oder), you have fuel pressure to the fuel rail but your injectors are not firing, last thing done, transwork, check all the wires around the trans, looked for pinched, cut and/or melted insulation, a wire has shorted drawing enough current to melt the instalation
