pgm-fi/ staling

i have a '85 crx si and since i bought it when i turn on the lights the car bogs down and wants to die but sometimes the lights work fine. and today i was driving home and the pgm-fi light came on and my engine sounds like its making a knocking noise and the #1 light is on, on the ecu
what could be my problem????
