Solder for fuel lines?

I tried using some .015 steel wire to replicate the 8 individual fuel lines (or they are plug wires that look like metal) on my 300 SLR engine. I found it difficult to produce smooth curves. I went to RAdioshack to look for solder but they only had it in .025 diameter which looked to big for 1:24...is there smaller stuff or should I use something else?

I used 24 gauge beading wire from Hobby Lobby for fuel lines on a Chevelle I made for my dad, not sure how thick it needs to be on your model though...

Yeah go for beading wire. I got 24, 26, 28, and 32 gauge from a craft store for 99 cents per spool. Enough for a lifetime of fuel and brake lines. Radio Shack does sell small diameter solder, I have some .015 from them.

Steel beading wire is a pain to use because it's very stiff but as long as you plan your bends it works out. Try bending it around a stiff object like some music wire or buy beading pliers. They have round jaws so you can make smooth curves with even the hardest wire.

solder is available as small as hair...
Though a half pound spool is about a mile or so, and silly expensive. For the small amount you want it would be cheaper to get silver wire.
The down side to using solder in models is it will tarnish to a flat greyish color, and small solder is fairly fragile as well.
Stranded electrical hookup wire is made up of many strands of tiny copper wire. it should be easy to find some that has tinned strands of 32 ga. (or smaller!) copper wire that easily will pass for stainless.
'lamp cord' may have plain copper or tinned copper conductors, some fancy Hi-Fi cables have fine wire in it as well. Try your local hardware store and see what sort of wire they have for sale by the foot (or meter).
