clutch problem?

hey, i haven't been to this forum in a coupla months, but i've run into a lil problem.

what could be causing this: i have to basically stomp the gas in order to get the car moving in all the gears. it isn't until the car revs to like 5-6 rpms that it moves in 1st gear. and then it's a sudden jerk forward. i find that the gas pedal is also not very responsive in all the other gears as well (takes high revs to get it to accelerate normally). i noticed somethin like this on 5th gear when i hit the gas and it jumps to 3-4 rpms but doesn't accelerate for about 3 secs and then goes back down to like 2 rpms and then the car starts accelerating.

i'm hoping it's not a major clutch problem, fluid maybe? or could it be that my engine isn't getting enuf air into it to get the combustions going?
that was my 1st guess, that i need to change my air filter.

i'd hate to be the bearer of bad new, but you need a new clutch bro. you can get a good 240sx clutch kit on ebay for around $130. labor will probably run anouther $250 or so.

do the work yourself...if you have the proper tools, it wouldn't be that hard and it is a great experience.

I didn't use a torque wrench on mine. You need a nice complete set of metric sockets along with extensions, wobblies(universal joints), 3/8 drive ratchet, set of metric wrenches, and patience.

find a night after work that you arent doing anything, if you have to stay up late, then do that, but it shouldnt take you more than a night to do it. when i did my friends, it took a good 3-4 hours
