Throttle Body Question

I have a 2000 GT with a 5 speed. The only mod I have done so far is a K&N intake. I am getting ready to buy a cat-back exhaust and possibly a larger throttle body as well. Would it be a worthwhile investment to go with a 75mm throttle body to complement the intake/exhaust or should I just stick with the stock one? Would I need to replace the MAF also to make it run right?? Thanks.

Stick with the stock 65mm. The 75mm one is for highly modified engines. You'll lose a lot of torque with the 75mm. Try going for headers and gears if it's in your budget, to accompany the intake/exhaust. You don't need to replace your MAF sensor, it will adjust to your mods fine.

i ve heard that alot too .A couple friends of mine put on a 70 or 75 mm t body and went back down to a 65mm

Instead of a bigger TB I would look at getting an aftermarket plenum. There getting good gains with the stock TB and MAF but aftermarket plenum.

I've heard that too about going too big on the throttle body but I did it anyway and don't regret it. Basically what I noticed is an expanded torque curve particulary in the mid to upper range. I didn't notice any sacrafice on the low end but I'm also running 390 gears thus I'm into the rpms pretty quick. My motor is stock except the usual bolt ons and tuning. I also honed out the stock plenum with a dremel to get rid of all the stock castings and port matched it to the Tbody. I had to remove 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch of aluminum off the stock plenum to match to the tbody. If I didn't do this I think the performance would definately have dropped simply due to bad airflow. You'll have to do this or buy a C&L Plenum to match the bigger Tbody. Hope that helps. Good luck.
