Soccer is what kids play when they suck at every other sport.
Nothing quite as exciting as watching a bunch of guys run around for 90 minutes (plus injury time), only to see the game end in a 0-0 tie. It's even worse than hockey, but at least you need skills beyond running and kicking to play hockey.

Yep. Sorry. I'm another that thinks soccer sucks. I wouldn't say my opinion is ignorant b/c i did play for 2 little league seasons. As well as watch (way too many times) the World Cup and Olympic events with one of my friends at the time. Just can't seem to find anything that I find exciting or fun about it. :dunno:

The Cardinals are the team to beat, but the Astros do have the best record against the Cardinals this season with a 10-18 record. The only team to have a winning record agaisnt them. Which is why I believe the two are pretty evenly matched and will go to 7 games. Sorry had to support my team a little bit.

As for Hockey I like to watch it in person, but on TV, talk about a yawnathon.

cause i've watched womens soccer for like 10 minutes and it was boring to me cause the girls suck compared to the guys. So generally anybody i talk to about soccer its about mens soccer. I dont expect another man to be talking to me about womens soccer, cause no men i know watch it

Not to mention soccer is older than all of the above mentioned sports as well, so it's been passed down in a sense from generation to generation for a lot longer. The Aztecs used to play a game (which influenced what eventually became soccer) that involved bouncing the ball off of the hips into a hoop. The losing team was sacrificed. Maybe soccer would be more exciting if that were still the case.

When did i EVER say it was complicated? But it seems like dumb people cant appreciate soccer cause they get bored too quick. I think attention span, and being impressed by big scores says something about peoples intelligence

I love football and basketball... but soccer is way better, its just more intense, they need to be strategic without stopping to call plays, and have you played soccer? It's not easy getting by somebody with the ball.

how about everyone stops bitching about which sport is better and which sport takes more skill. every sport takes a certain amount of skill, some are good at one thing some are good at another. no one is going to persuade another person on which sport is better, easier, and more strategic. if you cant at least show some respect for other sports then you are not a true sports fan. and for those of you in other countries defending soccer, or football, you need to realize that in america most of the population is extremely closed minded and are not up to trying new things.

I have to disagree. You have to have some degree of natural ability to play any sport. If you are uncoridinated you have a bad chance to play some sports. Thats why some people can play some sports but suck at others. Once you know you have the ability, the rest is just a learning/common sense kind of thing.

I'll agree with that, because i know there is no way in hell i could do some of those things that they can with dribbling a soccer ball, just like some of them probably couldn't handle a basketball like i can. So yes you are right it does take some natural ability to play any sport. All i meant was with enough practice you can get good at any sport(i.e.- Repitition)

I still say it doesn't take intelligence to watch a soccer game though, or any sports game for that matter. I wasn't saying soccer was a bad sport. And i wouldn't say that all sports are easy to learn either, it took me years to perfect my baseball swing, and even more to get pretty good at ball handling in basketball, and it would probably i guess take me years to learn how to handle a soccer ball against defenders. So i guess that F**ks up my statement that it's easy to pick it up and learn it.
