1996 Gst Problems

Problems with 1996 gst.. everytime when on 5th gear and I push the gas pedal all the way down, the acceleration stutters and the RPMs drop is like if there was a lack of gas, like if I was pushing gas all the way down, letting it go, and then pushing it back down again only difference is that accerlation continues,

PS. I just finished putting a fuel injector cleaner a couple of weeks ago but, no difference. What could it be??

i had the same proablem in my truck......i put fule injector cleaner in it and it just blew the exhaust out of it.... i think i twas the fuel filter or either something in the exhaust cause after it blew i went home and changed the fuel filter and welded a new exhaust on it and now it runs fine.....so check ur fule filter

Could also be a bad O2 sensor. The switch from LTFT Lo to LTFT mid, or to open loop, could be causing the stumble. Hard to diagnose this stuff over the internet, but it might be worth looking into.

also, check your plus, i had a very similar problem with my eclipse and i replaced the plugs and gapped them correctly, and the problem completely vanished. might be the wires too, if they're overly old.
