Did I blow my engine?

While driving on the highway, I noticed a loss of power and it sounded like I blew a tire.
After pulling over to inspect the vehicle, I noticed white smoke coming out of my exhaust and the smell of antifreeze.
I then opened the hood and pulled open the air intake -- steam was coming from same, and the heavy smell of antifreeze.
The engine did not overheat -- could I have just blown a head gasket?
I have the 6 cyl, 207 engine - I believe it has aluminum heads
Any opinons out there - or similar experiences?
Am I better off replacing the entire engine (115k miles) or getting this one fixed --- no other problems with the car.
Thanks.

sounds like a head gasket to me. but it could be a little more serious, rip it apart and find out. most likely the head gasket.
