88 Bronco II TFI fails

hey,

my bronco II tfi fails:angryfire when driving down the road. or at highway speeds. now my question is about how hard would it be to convert it to a newer 96 TFI module were it is located on the fender or in a less exterme heat area. or if not how can i get it so it does not fail on me when i am going down the road. cause it gets very annoying. and if it is possible to convert it to the 96 TFI module what would i need.
