Wassup guys.
I got xenons put into my car. The bulbs I got were purple bulbs though like the Mercedes Ones.
I was wondering if it is possible just to buy the white or blue bulbs or do I have to change everything?
And if I can just buy the bulbs...how much do they run and where can I get them?
2002 P11 w/ Sports Package
35% tint
Cleared Side Repeaters
Hyper white Foglights, clearance lights, backuplights, map lights, dome light, trunk light, license plate light.

Do you know exactly what kind of bulbs they are?
What do they look like?

They basically look like the purple mercedes lights. I'm not sure what the exact bulb type is at the top of my head. They are H4s though. I don't know if that helps. I'll post tomorrow this info tomorrow exactly what kind of xenons they are.

Did you actually get the HID conversion which consists of the ballast, etc. (Really expensive, like $500+)? Or did you just get the HID looking bulbs?

Hmm.. I'm as confused as you. I don't think they are H4 bulbs though, as those are what are in our cars stock.. I'm probably wrong :)
I'll try looking it up

Ok, the xenon bulb I believe has a certain combination of gases that emits a certain color. The ballast just sends power to the bulbs.
Still, I don't know where to buy real Xenon bulbs. If you do a search, all that comes up are the fake ones.
Edit: I found out Hella sells some Xenon bulbs, though their site doesn't say what color each one is (there are 2):

ive seen xenon bulb but there like 100 a peice. i think autodynamic.com as some but not sure i thik the balast might have something to do with the color that the bulb emits since if that what puts the power and gasses to the bulbs

I was reading up and I'm almost 100% sure it's the actual bulbs that holds the gases and the ballast just provides the power.

The gases inside the bulbs create the bulb color (thats why the bulbs under pressure *should state on box* )
The ballast's power the bulb.
The ballast's power the bulb.

I have hyper white and its soooo damn off. The xenons make my hyper whites look green cuz they are so damn white and purple.

Shit, My bad about my grammar in my previous post. I just woke up. I sound like a FOB. "I was think PIAA..." hahahahha
Anywho. I emailed Hella to see if the bulbs they sell can be used with any other companies ballasts and to see how much their bulbs are.
DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE PURPLISH WHITE XENONS ON THEIR G20???
Its a cool color just that my g20 is black with everything else being hyper white...I would prefer to have the whitish blue.

He is right, Ballast doesnt do with the color, only serves as a igniter and power controller that controls the voltage which is essential for the life of the bulb

I think no clearance light can match the color of the HID, that is why i stick with the stock ones, my HID is 7000k color which is more blue/purple than the 4300k HID, so it is hard to match it, i think same goes for you

There is Raybrig, Reaally good lights, but get your hands on raybrig Japan(not USA) the have better selection, both are made from -Stanley- Japan, So they are really reliable, and the have a new bulb, probably the closest you can get to your HID kit, they have 5300k bulbs, i personally have the 5000k bulbs for my fogs, and 7,400k HID, it still looks pretty sweet but, i'm taking them out, I found someone that can actually get 1 peice headlights for the G, it comes with two projectors, and two small projector turn signals, and a whole HID kit for the set....But it's Freggin' expensive, but luckily i saved up my pennies for this one!

Actually the person that is doing my turbo is getting them for me, I'm not sure where he is getting them from (Japan JDM for sure) but he's gonna let me know by the end of the week, he says that they look freggin tight, it's a one piece headlight with BLACK housing two projectors, 4 total with the turn signals!!! I seen them in a picture he showed me, but it was too hard to see, he took a picture of them in a show in Japan, and some dumb japanese car groupie sort of blocked the half of it with her boob!! (Light were on display rack But the half i say was Siiick
I won't know anything about the lights until the end of the week, but i'll get back at you, or just remind me. The only thing is Don't plan on using the light you got now, i think its a totalally different system. but again, i won't know till later...
Okay? OOtay......

They are actally not factory, all the yellow lights on my car are hyper yellow(through clear corners and turn signals), i figuered why be like everyone else and get hyper white turn signals, so i got hyper yellow, it's more of a jdm look, and they are alot more noticable and visable on the streets and freeways especially through fog and far distances (and legal in lovely california), i dunno everyone likes hyper white for turn signals, but i prefer yellow... Own preference...:)
