I recently replaced the aftermaket cassette player in my 93 civic with a cd player and now my in dash clock doesn't keep time. Everytime I turn the ignition off, it will start back at 1:00. There are 4 wires coming off the clock; a yellow, a black, a red with black strip, and a white with blue strip. I can't be sure if its the same wires, but there is a red with black wire and a white with blue strip wire coming out of the same branch of wires that the rest of the strereo wires come from. can any one tell me what these 2 wires are for?

You should have 2 fuses one in the car and one under the hood check them. Under the hood should be 7.5. Thats usually the problem considering the wiring on the back of the radio is correct, cause the clock runs off that radio.

The blue and white one is the constant, so when you shut off your car the clock stays on, and/or doesn't reset itself. The other one is the illumination wire so that when you hit the lights, the clock lights up.

thanks for the knowledgable replies. I coun't find an appropriate place to splice the red and black wire, but it seems to be working alright with the white/blue wire connected to the power line of my cd player :) .
