cincros??

i havea 95 tsi and ive never missed second gear well my buddy drove it and did a burn out in first and slammed second now it grinds into second is this the cincros?

synchros, probably.

is there anything else to check?

You can't really check a tranny if you don't know what you are doing. You can try replacing the fluid with some new good stuff and use it until you can't drive it anymore, or have it rebuilt now.
