Wobble

I am experiencing a wobble at speeds in excess of 50 when I let off of the gas. When I hit the gas (at these speeds) the truck darts a little in the opposite direction of the way the wobble begins. It almost feels like torque steer, but that doesn't make sense in a rear wheel drive vehicle. My thoughts are that it is something in the drive train, or maybe a broken motor mount is letting the engine shift its weight. I recently replaced the shocks and balanced/rotated the tires but the problem persists. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I forgot to mention it is a 1999 rodeo lse 2wheel drive.

I had the alignment checked and they said no problems. I dont feel it on shifting, on letting off the gas it wobbles, applying it darts.

Have you checked your wheel bearings? Also check your tire pressure, that can do it too.

May also have a tire out of round, bad rim, etc.

When my 2yr old set of Goodyear (crap) Wrangler rt/s's starting going bad, I thought for sure it was related to drive-train. As the tire's had LOTS of tread left, no patches, no irregular wear, etc. in other words, there was no reason for me to suspect the tires.

I had done everything, repacked wheel bearings, alignment, new shocks, had rims inspected, finally I didn't want to shell out $$$ for new tires, as I only had 26K on the Goodyear's that I paid $800 for 2yrs prior.

Finally gave up, whole front of truck begin vibrating badly, went out and spent close to $1K for Bridgestone Revo tires, man WHAT a difference!

sounds like a tire concern I would take it back to whoeveer balance it and ask them to have another person check it
If it is a 2000 model or newer and has factory aluminum rims they can be a pain to balance if one is not familliar with these

i had the servicing done recently at tire kingdom (rotate,alignment,balane) with no improvement (assuming they didn't just move it to another spot). it's very unpleasant.
