98 2.2 auto transmission error code

Hi My 98 s-10 has been having trouble at times shifting from first to second. I recntly got an actron CP9145 code reader and pulled the following code. "P0751 Shift Solenoid a ckt performane or stuck off". Does this mean its time to get the trans done? The truck has 160,000 miles on it. Or is it possible to repair this without having to pull the trans? Thanks Bob
