Allright here is the deal. I bought a 93 honda accord recently and it has been behaving weirdly. I changed the thermostat because it wasnt reading at all. For the last 3 weeks the car has been overheating and the water was full and the oil was overfull. Now before you ask it was like this before and I changed the filter replaced the oil and no there wasnt any water in the oil.

Anyway tongiht on the way home it started over heating again.

Please help mates I dont want to have to get another car :( Sigh

Ohh one more thing I replaced the radiator about 2 weeks ago as well because the old on when I got it the hose connection was broken...

Did you bleed the cooling system after replacing the radiator?

The cooling system, not the A/C. There's a bleed valve, probably towards the firewall, on the right side of the car (under the hood, of course). But its exact location probably depends on the model year.

Did you spring for a (good) manual yet? If not, I'd do so.

Actually my wife replaced the radiator so I will ask her If she bled the system if not then I will. Do you really think that is causing this problem ?

actually sorry about that I must have been tired last night. This is a civic not an accord

Well, first off - I know nothing about Civics.

However, I imagine the cooling system is similar. I don't know if it will fix ALL your problems, but I do know that air in the cooling system CAN cause problems related to what you described.

Allright new developments.

I noticed today after I had finished driving the car for maybe 10 minutes that there was coolent loss in a steady stream not a quick stream but still a stream, from the left side looking foward of the engine. Dont know if it was from the engine but it was some where from that general area.

Is that the water pump or something worse. Help !!!!!

I dont know if its the head gasket but my sucpision is it is any tips would be helpful when changing it

did you check the gasket on the water outlet that connects to the head?? Th bleed valve for a 93 accord is on the ewater outlet where the upper radiator hose connects. slightly open the valve and let a small stream of it come out untill there are no more air bubbles...also be sure the hose are properly tightened on both upper and lower hose connections on the radiator and the engine ....Good luck,

Also check the hose the hose that goes from the radiaor to the overflow tank....might as well repalce it if you repalced the radiator....

It's not the water pump - that's on the other end of the engine.
