A god quality K&N filter is only 30-40 bucks. Try www.summitracing.com. I got my 7" by 9" there for like 35 bucks. For that price its hard to justify buying a no name POS.

Is that the dimensions I need? 7" base? Thanks.

Depends on your setup. My filter is massive, and is on a 4" intake pipe. You cna see pics at my site. Its the largest filter that will fit between the fuse box and headlamp (7", cylindrical, not cone). For a more typical setup you may not be able to find that size filter with the right size inlet. And for a stock MAS, you need an oval inlet for the FIPK type setups, or round (3"?) for the cheap/ebay style adapters.

When looking at the filters in summit there are some drop down boxes that let you input some information. So you can narrow down the results. For example, have it show only 3" inlets. Then show only cone shape. Then narrow it by length, etc....

I have the MAF adapter (with the Injen) so you just have a new generic filter?

Where are you guys finding the FIPK for $35 or even $80? I've been checking around and all I see are over $100.

If you just need a particular size filter, www.summitracing.com is where I go. I paid ~34 bucks for a 9" long, 7" diameter cylindrical with 4" connection. If you need to adapt it to the stock MAS you can do the KN FIPK for about 80-90 bucks or get a 20 dollar ebay adapter (that blocks half of the MAS by the way) and a standard filter from summit. I would rather spend the money for the FIPK, you only have to buy it once.

oh also. the reason why they are cheap on ebay is because they only include some china filter and the adaptor. the k&n kit comes with a "bracket" i guess you could call it that holds the fitler in place. i built my own out of some sheetmetal and the rubber bushings from my stock airbox so that when the engine moves so does my filter.

That adapter looks like it will work fine! Not all filters are created equal though, even if they look like K&Ns. And it looks like I had already replied to this thread a month ago, LMAO. They all look the same after a while i guess...
