The car runs perfect. I dont know its just like a clicking sound coming from the intake manfold could it be my injectors or something? It runs really well only has 60k miles on it used mobile 1 from the start pretty much.

Well the lifters on these cars are self adjusting lifters, they are what go in-between your cam and valve. They do tick very often on 1g and sometimes on 2gs, It also could be a noisy injector. One sure way to tell is get a hard oak dowel about half an inch in diameter and 2-3 feet long this can be a mechanics best friend. What you do is place it on your engine on what ever part you think is ticking and you can hear exactly what’s going on.

like a tin can and a string... i can see it now, me with a stick on my engine... all the people around me already think i'm crazy... lol

but ya lifter tick is fairly common. i had it before i got my head reworked and cams installed. it is no big deal...

The 2g lifters have a bigger oppening for oil than the 1g's, i think the dealer only sells 2g lifters and work fine in 1g (on 4g63 motor)

mine is making a noise too but I think it is coming from the exhaust

it u got the good old 4g63 yes it is just in the lifter actually the lash adjuster which is in the lifter and rides on the cam and they can tick like that and is very common and they will all do it at some point mine does it all the time and yet i know it sucks and sounds bad but it is something you will just have to live with unless u want to do all the work of doing the head and all new parts cams lifters valves ya know spend the big bucks

The part that is connects the cam and the valve mechanically, is the roller rocker, not the lifter, The lifter is what the roller rocker rides on. I have 3rd revision lifters, no ticking. Yes this is a common problem as people have mentioned, and the only way to fix it, but can protentially still produce small ticking is purchasing these lifters, or checking out www.vfaq.com I think they have a write up on these. Also you don't need to replace all your valves and buy new cams either if you were to replace these.
